Overview
We are currently recruiting an Electrically Biased Multi Skilled Engineer for a large, well-established manufacturer based within the Ebbw Vale area of South Wales. The company have a large customer base, supplying various companies throughout the UK. The role is a shift-based position working a three shift pattern of 06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00 & 22:00-06:00. You will achieve a salary or £35,000.
The Role
To repair and fulfil maintenance tasks for complex machining or assembly equipment; analyse and eliminate root causes for actual and potential breakdowns; fulfil inspections and preventive maintenance tasks for production equipment.
Duties will include:
- Analyse breakdowns and errors on complex electric/electronic equipment
- Adjusts and corrects machine control systems and machining/assembly programs together with setter
- Check performance of production equipment after repair/corrections (e.g. cycle time, bottle neck stations); initiates corrected actions if necessary
- Analyses and eliminates weak points and potential breakdowns at production equipment; proposes actions for improvements and/or design changes for equipment
- Executes on tasks out of corrective action plans; supports TPM activities of production teams
- provides software adjustments / changes in S5 and/or S7; documents changes and starts up programs
The Person
- Completion of an apprenticeship.
- Completion of an OND, HND, or degree in electrical/electronic engineering.
- Min, of 3 years’ experience working in an electrical/electronic technician role.
- Min of 3 years experiance of working on CNC machines
- Good understanding of electrical fault-finding techniques and basic mechanical repairs.
- Experience required of how to perform all aspects of electrical breakdown repairs.
- Proven experience must be given fault finding techniques and the utilisation of predictive Maintenance
- Good understanding of TPM.
- Be able to demonstrate involvement with PM systems and explain processes and predictive techniques.
- Examples of continuous Improvement involvement and project they have been involved in to reduce downtime or make improvements.
- Understanding of Maintenance KPI's including MTTR, MTBF, PM rate.
